Peter and Loraine live in East Brunswick, Australia. I met with both of them some years ago when they were over in England researching their tree. Peter has done a tremendous amount of research on the Yea family.
David, Peter's progenator was a mariner in St Mary Church, now part of Torquay in Devon. His great grandfather, Robert, was born in Torquay in 1824, and in 1851 was also a mariner. He migrated to Australia in 1853 arriving in Melbourne on the 'Bell' on the 26th December, 1853. He then went to the goldfields of north-eastern Victoria and on the 13th May 1857 married Catherine Cumming Wotton also from Torquay, at Beechwoth. They settled in Yackandandah where they established a farm.
